Day 69: I always have big plans and ideas in my head. I know what I want to create before I put a pen to paper, paint to canvas, fingers to keyboard.
Often the joy in creating comes about in the unexpected. I’ve been surprised in the actions of characters in a short story. The “mistake” of a pen stroke becomes a new Zentangle pattern.
Painting is outside my comfort zone. I’ve attempted various classes, in high school, community education, one-day workshops. Each time I was focused on comparing myself to the instructor or the other class members. When faced with an entire year of creative habits, comparison flies out the window. This is only me and the simple process of creating.
