Having fun

Days 102 & 103: To my way of thinking a creative habit should be fun. I’ve mixed up my focus and medium, rotating what I’ve worked on, only incorporating painting in the last two months.

I have such fun painting. I want to be better at it…and I want to continue to have fun.

Day 102 – I’ve been curious enough to search out painting tutorials and blogs. I found June Rollin’s ART blog and her instructions on “tapping” watercolor onto water-misted paper, then misting again once the primary colors of paint in place. The hardest part of the piece was having the patience to allow the muddled paint to try before adding the tree limbs.

Day 103: Since I started painted I have wondered what it would be like to finger paint. Tonight I found out. It’s fun! My hashtag search led me to Iris Scott and her incredible finger painting with oils. She has a great YouTube tutorial.  I don’t have oils and I wasn’t interested in taking on a large piece, so I used my acrylics and a smaller canvas, picking up a few details.
