Day 97 (Counting Down 100 Days to My 50th Birthday)

In the movie Boyhood, Patricia Arquette’s character tells her son “College is where you meet your people.”

I loved that line. College began for me over 30 years ago but I’m blessed to retain several friends from that time.

Today was Easter. Perhaps the sentiment of that movie line is more appropriate for the feeling I have toward my relationship with the “people” of my church. Our pastor often refers to us as a community. He talks often about the connections we share. He speaks to the support we need to provide to each other as we each fill in the blanks of our own life’s puzzle.

It’s so good to belong. It’s so good to know that I’m supported, that my husband and kids are loved and connected as well.

Band Update: I was a happy, holiday slug. I took a nap. I talked with my sisters as we sat around our parent’s dining table. Today there were no significant activity milestones reached. I did continue my abstention from pop, chips and sugar. I’ll count that as a win. And the Band kept me updated on Twitter and Instagram updates throughout the day, which was great for a late Sunday afternoon.
